St. Pattie’s Day With The Swingers

We're lucky enough to have a local bar that, every Wednesday, is happy to host a small group of swingers. This bar is fully aware of who we are, and judging by the amount of traffic that the OTHER half of the bar gets on Wednesday nights, they were absolutely thrilled to have us there. I'm told we have even been offered porn on the small & curtained off VIP area.

Tonight being Wednesday AND St Patrick's Day, the bar was completely packed, both swingers and vanillas. Most of the regulars were there, as well as a large helping of new people. We noticed some newbies right off the bat, sort of wearing a neon sign by sipping drinks, glancing around nervously, and wandering up and down the bar without talking to anyone. “Your first time here?” Marilyn asked, proud of herself for approaching someone out of the blue. Turns out they weren't only new to the bar, but to swinging in general, rounding out their first month. Recognizing the wide eyed awe/wonder/nervousness, we led them to a “quiet” area to chat. (The word quiet is in quotes back there because as we sat down, and we were intending to chat, mind you, we were inundated with a VERY mediocre band's extra special rendition of “Happy Birthday, Bitch!” [which may or may not be simply Happy Birthday with the word bitch after it, and not its own song]followed by unique stylings of “Poker Face” and even, wait for it, “Oops, I Did It Again.” [And I fear this paranthetical may have gone on too long and may be making even the most avid reader roll their eyes…So I'll end the brackets and paranthetical at the same time.]) It made me reflect that this couple is almost exactly a year behind Marilyn and I. It was a year ago that us, the newbies, a month in, made real contact and met the friends that are still with us today.

It also was interesting as we talked to three different couples about the moment they climbed on the swingset. The newbies made a baffling and ballsy decision one night that instead of going to a strip club, heading over to Couples' Playhouse, a swing club that offers a bar & dance floor downstairs, with a full compliment of playrooms upstairs. From there they were hooked. Another couple sitting with us told us that they got into it because the Mrs wanted to explore her bi-side. (This seems to be the most COMMON theme I've heard, the mrs' explorations) A third couple told us that their introduction was with a close friend of the Mr, who after a long night of drinking and flirting, had an mfm threesome. And of course it was only fair for the Mrs to let the Mr find a lady after that.

The fourth couple, Marilyn and I, came to it still another way. A mutual desire to have sex with others. We both nervously brought this up with each other on a very scary day in our relationship, only to find that, since we both wanted the same thing, well, then, I think there's something we can do about that, TOGETHER!

As the evening wore down, we peaked at the offerings of a sexy toy party girl, (discovering something called the G-Pop which looks absolutely fascinating…one has been ordered…there will be a review!) and then found ourself joining a friend we've been trying to get together with for ages in the VIP room. While on a normal Wednesday night, beyond the velvet curtain, you might find one or two couples, usually no more than a blow job happening, tonight was as big as the holiday. A hedonistic delight of epic proportions…and one that is perhaps a story for another day.
