Review: b-Vibe’s Rimming Waterproof Remote Control Vibrating Butt Plug

0

When you're hanging out with author, educator, all around brilliant fellow (and butt guru) Charlie Glickman, and he leans over and tells you that he's working on developing a new butt plug, you take notice. At the mention of a Charlie Glickman developed plug, he had my curiosity, upon arrival to find it with rotating beads in the stem to simulate a rimjob…well, b-Vibe got my attention.

As sex and toys have gone rather mainstream lately (disclaimer: I'm not kidding myself into believing that there isn't still a real and present danger for anyone working with sex toys, and sexuality, in a country that would rather we just not talk about these things like our grandparents, but that topic's a bit beyond the scope of this review) rimming seems to be one of those few acts (that don't involve endless accessories and accoutrements) that would cause certain wealthy dowagers to swoon were they brought up in the drawing-room. Perhaps a gasp of “I never!”

She never. No. Of course not. That's tongues. And butts. (“How do you know that if you never?” “Graves, please remove Mr Beckett from the drawing-room!”)

But we do. So many of us. Like when we used to pretend we didn't have oral sex, but did, we rim. Oh glory be, do we rim. And if not…we certainly enjoy it.

So to produce a toy that could do this for us. Maybe simultaneous to other things. Being rimmed while getting a blowjob, being rimmed while penetrating. Being rimmed while cooking dinner for the family. The possibilities are endless.

Enough hyperbole, let's talk nitty-gritty.

The rimming plug is…big. I mean, I'm a butt guy. Pegging aficionado on my business card and everything, and I was somewhat intimidated here. I've certainly had bigger things inside me, but never a plug this big. (Except that glass one, and the less said about that the better.) So, intimidated. But curious.

The plug is long, and thinner than many, it's biggest point isn't much bigger than its smallest, and its smallest is about the same size as its neck. The neck is the key here, because it holds several rows of beads that slide around under its silicone skin. The tip houses a vibrator.

Along with the plug is a small puck remote control. I hold it in my hand, and think fondly about all the remote controls for sex toys I've lost over the years.

My life isn't like other people's.

The remote has a power button, a plus and minus, a squiggly worm, and a circle with arrows. My flagrant refusal to read the directions suggests to me that the squiggly worm rotates the beads in either direction, while the circle spins them. I'm wrong. The squiggly worm changes just the vibration mode, while the rotation changes just the beads. One can also disable either independently.

And this is why?

WE ALWAYS READ DIRECTIONS.

After some warm-up, I insert the toy. As I may be a connoisseur, but have been out of practice, and as I said, it's quite large, it takes me a bit, but once I'm there, I thumb the power button and the beads begin.

At first they're too calm, and I really only feel the vibration, but after futzing distractedly with the remote, I find an intensity level and bead speed that really got me going.

Verdict then?

Well, it really does replicate some of the feeling of rimjobs, muted a bit by the large shaft sticking out of you and the big base, but it feels good and has some nicely strong settings.

It's very soft and smooth, as good silicone toys often are. Since it's seamless, it's very easy to clean, and the packaging says it's waterproof, which when coupled with the 1 year warranty, I'm tempted to throw it in the bath to test that out. It's also incredibly quiet, so you could conceivably wear this beneath clothes and not be found out if people weren't all up in your bidness.

Plus when you stand it on the table and turn it on, it does a little dance. And really, that makes us all winners.

The remote isn't the most responsive, and some times when I was hitting the plus nothing seemed to be changing for me intensity wise. But after turning it off and back on (didn't even have to contact tech support for this suggestion) it seemed to do its job nicely. I was also impressed at this being the first vibrator remote I've ever used that didn't have to be nearly close enough to touch the vibe itself just to change settings.

Areas of improvement? Well, personal preference would've requested something a bit shorter, and it didn't really hit at my prostate much, which may be a factor of its girth. But overall, quite enjoyable. The presentation is quite good as well, with a turquoise color scheme, that also runs to its faux metal carrying case. Comes with a usb charger that uses the magnetic connection so common in Fun Factory toys.

Awesome

When all is said and done, I must thank b-Vibe (and Charlie Glickman, of course) for taking such good care of my ass. I look forward to their next project!
