Review: Sheer Glyde Dams

1

I was slightly hesitant about trying out the Sheer Glyde Dams….let face it, who really wants a piece of latex on their cooch? But all of us here at Life on the Swingset promote safe, healthy and fun sex. While I have never used a barrier of any type I really didn’t know what to expect and had a slight idea on how to use the product. Seeing as I was a novice with the Sheer Glyde Dam I read the pamphlet that came with it. My partners read along as well and class was in session. We were all very amused with one of the descriptions in the pamphlet:

Q: What is Oral Sex?
A: Oral sex means skin-to-skin contact. Using your mouth for licking, sucking, eating out, going down on, giving head on your partners cunt, labia, vagina, penis or ass (rimming).

We were all amused that the first thing they referenced was a “cunt”…maybe we are just sick individuals….moving on.

We were given 3 dams to try out in vanilla, strawberry and wildberry flavor. All of which in their respected colors as well (white, pink and purple) ooh so girly!! We tried smelling all three scents and all we could smell was latex/plastic, so the scents are very very dull if not almost nonexistent. Those of you with perfume allergies are good to go! We decided to start with the vanilla flavor. I positioned the rectangular piece of latex across our girlfriend’s vagina and proceeded to begin my research. Hehe.

I noted that the latex clung very tightly to her vagina – it reminded me of working with plaster of paris from high school to make a mold. Continuing with my research I began to play with her clit through the latex with my tongue. She did make me aware that it did feel different for her as well and that added pressure was needed to make up for the Dam. We went at this for a while and then decided to add some lube to assist in moving things along. This GREATLY helped her in receiving pleasure and it also assisted in more friction to be allowed.

The Sheer Glyde Dam did have to be adjusted from time to time to make up for friction and movement. It also was not very conducive for finger insertion in combination of cunnilingus. It would cover one part of the finger but not the whole finger as a glove would. While you want to keep the vagina covered with the dam during play, you would also want your finger(s) covered for protection as well.

[Editor's Note: Latex gloves are perfect for this situation…]

The Sheer Glyde Dam can also be used for any backdoor shenanigans you enjoy. Just remember you will need to use a bit more pressure to make up for the barrier and lube would be recommended.

Overall we enjoyed testing the Sheer Glyde Dams and would use them and recommend them to others.

Rubbing it out for your info,
Bailey

  1. In regard to the Editors Note: I was reading a blog for one of my favorite sex stores in Chicago – Early to Bed – and they had just received an order for 100 latex gloves! They offered a great tip on turning a glove into a dental dam as well. Cut from the thumb and pinky finger down to the wrist and you can then you have a "flap" and have your dental dam for simultaneous finger-tounge action.
