Review: Love Liquid Lubes by Kama Sutra

1

As you may have noticed, I'm the lube guy around here.  I think it's because so many of the other products require the female perspective far more than the male, so I simply can't be the expert on whatever newfangled dildo Marilyn is playing with this week. Even if I'm lending a hand. But when it comes to lube, lending a hand is really what's needed to do most of the testing.

(Nice segue, no?)

I've got a love hate relationships with lubes that promise warming. The KY warming lube, and their his and her lube combination of warming and cooling were both very disappointing, so I'm always extremely skeptical when it comes to the promise of warming or cooling, knowing that, odds are, I'll feel nothing at all, (most often) or it'll be so overwhelmingly strong that I'll loudly wonder “why would anyone do this to their penis!” (only one so far…)

I'm happy to say that Kama Sutra‘s Love Liquid falls right in the middle of that spectrum, which is exactly where I'd want such a lube to fall. If I'm not going to be feeling it at all, why the hell should I pay the extra for the privileged of saying “I think it MIGHT be working…no, wait, I'm not sure.” And for those UBER HEATING/COOLING lubes, well, there's Icy Hot if I ever want to inflict that sort of penile torture on myself.

I tried both the Tingling Peppermint and Warming Cinnamon and enjoyed them both. But before I continue with this review, I want to address something on the bottles. The words “USE EXTERNALLY.” Really? I mean, sure, most of my use is going to come from my hand (or my lovely Fleshlight) but suppose Marilyn wasn't so naturally lubricated, am I not supposed to use this inside her body? Is it supposed to simply be a massage oil? Or is this just a standard disclaimer like “For novelty purposes only” slapped on sex related products for socital reasons. In any case…you've been warned about weird disclaimers.

Of the two, I preferred the Tingling Peppermint. It does exactly what you think it'll do, like a mint for your cock, surprisingly without including menthol in the ingredients list. Glycerin, however, is included in both of them. I am pleased to say, despite the inclusion of glycerin, these lubes don't get as sticky as many water based glycerin infused lubes when they dry out, and they last longer than many I've used in the past. The Warming Cinnamon gives you that little bit of extra heat, an extremely benign version of red pepper, but enough to add a tingle, which is nice.

In fact, with its bit of added stimulation, these have become two of my go-to lubes for private time with myself.

When used with my wife, they gave her the same bit of stimulation boost, even giving an “ooh…” when she first felt the cooling lube, but she wasn't overwhelmingly impressed enough that she'd decide to use these all the time. They're nice and pleasant, but, like flavored lubes, there's a time and a place.

Pick up Kama Sutra‘s Love Liquid for a nice change of pace, far more effective than your find them in Osco heating/cooling lubes.

  1. I think I've given up on lubes that are supposed to do anything other than…um…be wet. Just give me one I don't have to re-apply ever 10 strokes (I'm talking mostly about handjobs here) and I'll be happy.
