Review: Double Hole Sleeve by Tenga

8

Ahh, Tenga…you raise my hopes and then dash them to pieces.

Last week I discovered the Tenga Egg, and quickly proclaimed it to be my new favorite masturbation accessory due to its low low price compared to my previous playmate the Fleshlight and its stunning ability to be like my hand, only moreso.

So when Babeland offered to send me another in Tenga's male masturbator line I jumped at the opportunity, for if their most inexpensive product could WOW me like that, just think of what would happen with more wacky Asian ingenuity and a slightly higher budget.

Enter the Tenga Double Hole Sleeve.

This offering is the size of one of those extra tall beer cans, is made of white plastic and has two “screw-off” caps, one on top, one on bottom. (The use of quotes is because these caps not only pop off, but pop off when the opposite side is being used.) Inside is a TPE sleeve. (And TPE, we have learned is porous, but phthalate free, and can be washed with soap and water.) The sleeve is, according to the website, divided into the “sweet” and “bitter” ends. The bitter tight and lined with tiny nubs and the sweet wider with larger nubs.

For whatever reason this sleeve comes pre-lubricated, something that was immediately annoying, as while using one side, the lube and cap get pressed off the other side, and quickly get messy. I can honestly think of no reason that something like this would need to be pre-lubed. Honestly, who amongst us who choose to masturbate with a sleeve do it anywhere WITH THE SLEEVE that we wouldn't have lube.

It's not like I carry a Tenga Egg around in my messenger bag. And if I did I sure as hell wouldn't be shy about carrying one of those teensy toothpaste tube thingies of lube.

So, usage was a disappointment all the way around. While I was amazed by the Tenga Egg‘s ability to go from something so small to swallowing me whole, the Double Hole Sleeve seems tremendously undersized, both in length and girth acceptance. (And again, I'm over average, but not HUGE, so this doesn't bode well for many…) Then came the “sweet” and “bitter” textures. I flipped this thing around several times and still couldn't tell the difference between sweet and bitter, all I know is neither managed to coax an orgasm out of me.

Something that the Egg did rather quickly afterward.

So, Tenga…what else you got?

  1. I tried the deepthroat cup, and I must say I was really surpised on how good that one was. Been eyeing this one for a while, but not sure now when reading this. There's stilla few other Tenga products to test so I might go for another one then.

  2. You probably already know this, but in case other people don't, this is why I believe they're pre-lubed: there's a market in Japan for "ona-holes," one-use disposable masturbation sleeves. You buy the thing and it sits until you're ready for it. Then you peel off the protective openings, violate it, and toss it in the trash when you're done. Pre-lubed makes it convenient, and if you're travelling with it, you don't have to keep a separate bottle of lube.

I bought one (I don't remember what the name is off-hand) that was prelubed. If you stripped off the plastic wrapping, it was just a plain looking plastic bottle that could have passed for hair shampoo or body wash.

Personally, I had no more problems with the pre-lube in it than I did with the Fleshlight. I had an early Fleshlight with the smooth interior, and my only real complaint with it was that it didn't retain lube very long–it was easily pushed out the back, so I was having to stop and relube fairly often. The Tenga toy, while it wasn't as good as the Fleshlight, had contours and pockets and chambers and it held the lube a lot better. And I didn't notice it squeezing out the far end, but maybe that was my model. It was also lighter, contoured, and easier to handle. I used to get tired hands if I went too long with a Fleshlight. But like most Americans, I find the Tenga a little too small and tight. I'm average size and I could manage it, but I would have liked a little slack.

I'm definitely going to try the eggs, though.

  3. I think it is this one with two holes that produce the problems with pushing out the lube. The deepthroat cup didn't have the problem, and was a damn good one too I must add.

I highly recommend the egg now when I tried. It might not be as good as the deepthroat cup with the feeling, but it's so much easier to hide and also easy too clean. Just turn the egg inside out and use water, I'm not sure how long the thing will hold. But the material seem rather strong, so I think it can easy for 20+ in use. Even if it's not as good as the deepthroat cup it does feel good, just in a different way.

  4. I do recommend them, even if they're sold as "one-time-items", they are easy to clean so you can reuse them. The ona-cups are harder in that way. But the eggs are definatly worth their price.
