It’s some high and mighty spin with a buried lead. The jist of the article is that sex has become somewhat trivialized and non-romantic. People are having sex with more partners at the same time (which, according to the article is called “‘concurrency,’ in sexual behavior lingo” [And Isincerely doubt that a term like concurrency has EVER been able to be termed "lingo"]) and they’re doing it in so called “friends with benefits” relationships and “nonromantic sexual encounters.” So, what’s this doing? SPREADING DISEASE! LIKE HERPES! Run for the hills, swingers, our friends with benefits and other nonromantic sexual encounters, and dear god, our CONCURRENCY is going to kill us all!

When last we sat down for storytime, I talked about Marilyn and my first date with the swingers, and what an unusual experience it was for us, and about all the build up. Leaving the restaurant that night, we were like little kids again, giggling the whole way home, a “what are we doing?” sense in the air. Today Marilyn and I decided to take a big step in our lifestyle. We have just booked a trip to Desire for next February. Why is this a big step? Well, to date our swinging interactions have mainly been with people we’ve met a few times and then played with, or people we know through others and are therefore sort of “vouched for.” (which is really a post all in itself…) Though we fully intend to give on/off site parties and clubs a chance, we just haven’t gotten around to it, which is really because we’ve never been that comfortable meeting people.
